Step into Spring
By Connie Hawkins

I love any opportunity to declutter and organize my home, office, and life. However, if you are someone that needs a little motivation, what better to motivate you than “stepping into spring cleaning.”  Yes, spring cleaning is important, but before we start on our homes, let’s start with decluttering our hearts.  Get rid of unforgiveness, ignorance, boastfulness, hatred, envy and anything else that might be keeping us in bondage…sweep it all away and concentrate on the things of God.

Once we clean up those ungodly things lingering in the deepest, darkest corners of our hearts we can move on to spring cleaning our life.  What can we do different this year to make a difference in the lives of others and in our own life? Take a moment and browse through your calendar. What are you spending most of your time doing? Is your day filled with too many appointments, leaving you with a non-existent social life? Or is your social calendar brimming, but you find you have no time to work out or spend quality time with your family?  What about God? Are you spending time with Him? Or are you too busy and too tired talk to God?

Maybe it’s time we make a list of priorities for our life and find a way to fit them in our calendar.  You only live once, so make sure you are spending each day doing things that are not only in line with your priorities and goals for life, but are in line to what God wants for you.  Now, where did I leave my broom?  I need to step into spring and do some serious sweeping!
