Hymns for the 50 and older crowd

Hymns for those Over 50

Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays.  You don‘t have to put up a tree, or haul out ornaments. There’s no big meal to prepare.  You don’t have to bake everyone’s favorite pie and you don’t have to worry whether or not you have enough space around the dinner table or enough chairs for everyone!

4th of July…a fire in the fire pit (even if  it’s 80 degrees out) so we can roast hot dogs and marshmallows.  Potato salad, pork n beans and lemonade.  And don’t forget the watermelon and the sparklers. The kiddos have plenty of room to play; they can be as loud as they want because they’re outside.

Every 4th of July, our Prime Time church group has a tailgate party down at the Tridge in Midland.  We celebrate with food (of course), fellowship and lots of fun.  We never get bored waiting for the fireworks to begin but if we do, we can always sing those trusted hymns for us folks over 50!

1.   Precious Lord, Take My Hand, and Help Me Up
2.   It is Well with My Soul, but My Knees Hurt
3.   Nobody knows the Trouble I Have Seeing
4.   Just a Slower Walk with Thee
5.   Count Your Many Birthdays, Name them One by One
6.   Go Tell It on the Mountain, but Speak Up
7.   Give Me the Old Timers' Religion
8.   Blessed Insurance
9.   Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah; I've Forgotten Where I Parked

I hope you enjoed your holiday – be blessed.
